介紹 | Carpenter Stainless Type 420 Mold Steel is a material which should be considered for long-run molding applications. It has been used for protection against the following specific corrosive conditions: 1. Rusting of cavities when machines are shut down or molds are stored away between runs. Protective coatings in the mold cavities are unnecessary. 2. Rusting of mold cavities when running corrosive plastic compounds. 3. Corrosion problems when molds are used in hot, humid climates. In addition to resisting the above corrosive conditions, users have found that Stainless Type 420 Mold Steel has many other advantages which make it economical to use on applications where corrosion is not involved. For internal soundness and uniformity, Stainless Type 420 Mold Steel is produced using the electroslag remelting (ESR) process. ESR significantly improves the polishing characteristics of the material and therefore reduces mold rejections caused by polishing imperfections. Stainless Type 420 Mold Steel is also available as a super-refined vacuum melted steel. Applications: Stainless Type 420 Mold Steel has been used for molding applications involving intermittent runs where molds are repeatedly stored for long periods of time. It could be considered for most types of plastic molding applications. |
